This Homekey project in Oakland, California transformed an underutilized urban lot into permanent supportive housing for 32 individuals experiencing homelessness. The project was funded through California's Homekey program, which provides grants to local public entities to develop housing for homeless populations.
Working in partnership with the City of Oakland and a local non-profit service provider, our team delivered a comprehensive solution that included:
- 32 fully-furnished studio apartments with private bathrooms and kitchenettes
- Common areas including community room, laundry facilities, and outdoor gathering spaces
- Offices for on-site supportive services and property management
- Secure entry system and 24/7 staffing for resident safety
The project demonstrates how modular construction can rapidly address housing needs while maintaining high-quality standards and creating a supportive community environment.
